Ultimate Winery Experiences Australia

Melbourne Food & Wine Festival

Between 31st March and 9th April, the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival returns to Victoria, this time celebrating its 25th year.  The festival is an annual state-wide celebration of Victoria’s flourishing food and wine industry that each year attracts more than 250,000 attendees to a diverse program of over 200 events.  The festival has grown gradually since 1993 when just a small number of events were held.  Now the city of Melbourne is filled with eclectic culinary experiences and events that overflow from Melbourne's famous labyrinthine of restaurants, laneways and beyond into regional Victoria.

Victorian UWEA member wineries Brown Brothers, De Bortoli Yarra Valley, Montalto Vineyard & Olive Grove, Pizzini Wines and Tahbilk will all be hosting events that celebrate the abundance and quality of their regional food and wine.

CULTURES COMBINE
Pizzini Wines, 1st April 2017

Join local Aboriginal artist and storyteller Chris Thorne for a children’s art class with a difference on the first day of the Victorian school holidays - Saturday April 1st. Cultures Combine is an event Pizzini is running during the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival. This event is for the whole family but really for the kids! The day combines Aboriginal art and storytelling and Italian style food and sharing. Children will produce a piece of art that will tell their story after listening to stories about Aboriginal culture and participating in activities to set the scene. Adults accompanying the kids are encouraged to stay and take part in the storytelling and art class and hear how our indigenous community pass on cultural traditions and history through stories, dance and art. An Italian style picnic lunch will be served after the class and the whole family can sit and chat more with Chris about his culture or spend some time enjoying the surrounds of cellar door.
