Ultimate Winery Experiences Australia

Fowles Wine Cellar Door Upgrade

At Fowles Wine in the foothills of Victoria's stunning Strathbogie Ranges the team are passionate about making beautiful wine. It was no surprise to us to hear the news from James Halliday, Australia’s leading wine critic, that Fowles Wine had been awarded FIVE RED STARS in the Halliday Wine Companion. Halliday’s reviews are based purely on quality and this ranking secures Fowles' spot in the top 10% of wine producers in Australia. In addition to their inexhaustible passion for making wine the team pour equal enthusiasm into other activities on the farm including growing veggies and raising sheep for meat, chickens for eggs and pigs for salami. They even won the Trophy in the King Valley Salami festival in the non-traditional ‘Il Bastardo’ category for a wild rabbit and pork salami! It makes perfect sense for all these activities to be brought into focus under one roof and plans for the Fowles Wine Cellar Door redevelopment promise to do just that.

The new and expanded cellar door will soon include:

  • a Farm Shop highlighting produce of the local network of incredible producers;
  • a Tasting Room where you can explore the Fowles range of wines and produce with a member of the expert team or in a more casual way with a self-guided tasting;
  • an updated Wine Shed for functions – beautifully appointed for all your function needs; and
  • a more comfortable Café space with an improved kitchen to enable the team to continue to dazzle you with their fabulous creations.

In addition to all this, outside the Cellar Door, Café and Farm Shop a new interactive outdoor area will include:

  • a sprawling Natural Playground in the courtyard for the kids;
  • a state-of-the-art Chook Shed where you can collect eggs and bring them up to the kitchen team to cook;
  • a Sheep Paddock and Pig Pen where you can feed the animals;
  • a large Herb Garden and Citrus Grove for picnics;
  • an Educational Vineyard to teach you more about the twelve varieties grown in the vineyards; and
  • a vine-covered Feasting Area where groups can pre-order a home grown lamb which will be roasted on the spit for you.

Exciting times ahead. Some work has commenced but, fear not, the exising Cellar Door and Café will remain open in the meantime.  Keep an eye on our 'Latest News' page for further details and updates as they emerge.
