As much as we all love tasting wine and learning about its production, we know Australia's wine regions have much to offer alongside the delicious food and wine they are famous for.  That's why our beyond the cellar door approach extends not only into the inner mechanics of the wineries and vineyards but also to the surrounding attractions and environments of our glorious wine regions.  Here are a small selection of our experiences that combine traditional winery experiences with a taste of the great outdoors.

De Bortoli Yarra Valley - Yarra Valley Wine & Wildlife

Your wine and wildlife package begins at Healesville Sanctuary where a personal guide will take you on an informative and interactive tour of Australia’s unique and endangered wildlife.  From there, a leisurely 20 minute drive through the picturesque Yarra Valley will bring you to De Bortoli Yarra Valley Estate. Fowles Farm Heritage Experience

Arrive at Fowles Wine Cellar Door Cafe for morning tea and enjoy a selection of home baked cakes and tarts with premium teas and coffee, then enjoy an informative but casual wine tasting with a wine expert and discover the standout varietals of the cool climate Strathbogie Ranges wine region.  Next, head out on a short coach journey to the historic homestead of Killeen Station and embark on a tour of the grounds to discover the beauty of one of Victoria's first farming properties.

Having worked up an appetite, sit down to a two course lunch featuring Fowles Ladies who Shoot their Lunch wine and learn about the art of matching fine wine to game food in the unique surrounds of the Cape Dutch style heritage stables built in 1872.

Enjoy a selection of leaf teas or coffee before returning to the Cellar Door.

Fly Fishing at Josef Chromy

Learn the art of fly casting, and gain an introduction to fly fishing with RiverFly Tasmania and Josef Chromy Winery.

Situated amongst the rolling hills of the Winery, find yourself learning the basics of casting on our lake with Tasmania’s leading fly fishing guides.

Enjoy a complementary tasting at the Cellar Door and then retire to the Restaurant for a two course lunch of fine Tasmanian produce matched with wines.

Jacob's Creek Cooking Classes

Held in the outdoor kitchen at the historic Jacob’s Estate Cottages, enjoy a cooking experience led by the talented Jacob’s Creek Chefs overlooking the beautiful Kitchen Garden.

The class involves working in small teams, picking fresh produce from our garden, which will then be specially prepared into a gourmet meal. After your cooking skills have been put to the test you will enjoy a leisurely lunch matched with your favourite Jacob’s Creek wines.

This experience is perfect for anyone looking for an engaging hands-on activity and the unique venue offers the perfect setting to truly experience the best of the Barossa. 

Montalto & The National

Enjoy 18 holes on one of Australia’s finest pieces of golfing real estate.  The National Golf Club is located a short drive south of Melbourne, at Cape Schanck on Victoria’s spectacular Mornington Peninsula. The club has 3 exceptional and highly regarded 18 hole golf courses; the Old course, the Moonah course and the Ocean course, ensuring that it ranks as the best piece of golf real estate in the country.

Tahbilk Wetlands Ecology Tour

Accompanied by an expert guide walk the wetlands trail whilst our guide explains the restoration work that has been completed, the work being done to save the endangered species that live in the wetlands and the impact the ecological work has on the winery and wines.

Vasse Felix - Cape to Vine Day Trip

The Margaret River cape offers one of the most spectacular, untouched stretches of coastline in the world. Experience the power of the Indian Ocean and the unique and pristine flora and fauna of the Region on this walking tour with track specialists, Cape to Cape Explorer Tours.

After exploring the wonders of the track, indulge the senses at Margaret River’s founding wine estate, Vasse Felix.
