Ultimate Winery Experiences Australia

Barossa Gourmet Weekend

In 1985 a small group of Barossans loaded up their trucks with local produce and drove to Adelaide to showcase their wares. Over three decades later, Barossa Gourmet Weekend holds a special place in the hearts of locals and visitors as the region celebrates its largest celebration of local food and wine.

The celebration of our world class food and wine destination is complemented with our spirit of sharing: Barossa hospitality. Our event presenters ask you to discover something new in experiences hosted across the Barossa Valley. Experiences that immerse you in our food, landscapes, music and wine.

The three day festival will be a true feast for the senses.

There is no bad time of year to visit the Barossa but there are extra special times when the atmosphere of this food and wine mecca is at its peak.  2nd to 4th September 2016 is shaping up to be one such extra special time.  Wineries, restaurants and producers across the region will be hosting unique food and wine experiences that promise to deliver the remarkable hospitality that the Barossa has become known for.  Among these exciting events, Ultimate Winery Experience Australia members Seppeltsfield and Jacob's Creek Visitors Centre will be hosting an event each that celebrate the incredible local produce of this famous Australian wine region.

On Saturday and Sunday at Seppeltsfield the next instalment of unearthed@seppeltsfield will take place in the 1920's Vintage Cellar.

Chef Owen Andrews will present "Banh Mi", a Vietnamese inspired baguette, with Asian spring vegetables, slow roasted Pork and crisp crackling while those with a sweet tooth will be delighted by Owen's chocolate truffles infused and paired with a trio of Seppeltsfield fortified wines.

The cellar will be filled with the sounds of Colonel Mustard.  Their pop, rock and classics will be sure to get you in the Gourmet Groove.

Along with unearthed@seppeltsfield, Seppeltsfield's revamped Cellar Door will be open with a $5 tasting fee redeemable on purchase from 10.30am to 5pm.

Close by, Jacob's Creek Visitors Centre will be celebrating Fathers' Day with a Gourmet Breakfast.  A relaxed breakfast of poached, fried or scrambled eggs with Schulz’s bacon, fried tomatoes, roasted field mushrooms and house-made beans on Apex Bakery toast served with a complimentary glass of Jacob’s Creek sparkling wine or Bickford’s juice.  Enjoy music provided by acoustic band Very Jane, from the comfort of a bean bag or challenge your family and friends to a game of tennis or other lawn games. Each dad dining will even receive a small gift.  What a great start to a lazy Sunday.
