Sirromet’s state of the art facilities offers food and wine lovers the ultimate winery experience.
Queensland’s Granite Belt is located three hours from either Brisbane or the Gold Coast. Served by the New England Highway, this is the only place in Queensland that offers four distinct seasons. This premier wine producing area also experiences growing and ripening conditions unlike elsewhere in Australia. The combination of cool weather and decomposed granite soils produces outstanding wines and a very diverse range of food. Wine production in and around Stanthorpe represents more than 60% of all Queensland production and the region is home to almost 50 winery cellar doors.
Stanthorpe lies at the heart of the Granite Belt offering a range of diverse wine food experiences, boutique accommodation and access to some magnificent national parks as well as a year round calendar of events.
In 1965 the first wine grapes were planted in the Granite Belt: one hectare of shiraz, a variety that outshone all others over the next 25 years. It was not long before others followed suit. The region is now home to over 50 cellar doors.
