Travel Better DMC

Destination management services in Western Australia

Travel Better DMC encourages guests to slow down and experience immersive, mindful and sustainable travel that builds a deeper connection with a place and its people.

Travel Better DMC caters for high end travellers that like to travel curiously, with touches of luxury to soften the edges of adventure. These all-inclusive bespoke immersive experiences follow the seasonal and winemaking calendar of Western Australia’s wine regions. Guests enjoy small group travel with insider access to award-winning winemakers and small family producers, and access to behind the scenes experiences and opportunities not normally available. A premium food and wine offering awaits at every mealtime, catered by one of the region’s most accoladed chefs.

The brain child of tourism specialist, Stepan Libricky, and travel/wine journalist, Cassandra Charlick, Travel Better DMC offers an exciting new way for travellers to experience Western Australia's wine regions. It services those who have a taste for the finer things in life, yet are hungry for a little adventure, a little discovery, are curious and open minded. It is aimed at those who want to earn their drop of favourite wine and learn along the way.

It is a natural extension of what both Cassandra and Stepan believe in – to travel slower, to engage deeper, to be more present, to share experiences with others, to have time to reflect and enjoy, to support genuine producers, and to reach for the soul of a place through people you meet.

To imagine, design and curate our itineraries, they have looked at their Western Australian wine-lovers paradise and opted to offer an experience in each region from an intimate, personable point of view.

The land of the Wadandi People, Traditional Owners of the Margaret River region.

Geographically isolated and spectacular, Margaret River specialises in memorable regional cuisine and spectacular scenery, where rolling vineyards sit against a backdrop of ocean and forest.

Highly regarded as a producer of powerful yet elegant Cabernet Sauvignon, Margaret River is also famous for its white wines, especially its Chardonnay and Semillon Sauvignon Blanc blends. Margaret River’s ideal climate, good soil and maritime environment produce consistently superior vintages that confirm its reputation as one of the premium wine producing regions of the world.

Located in the far south-west corner of Western Australia, the region is a popular wine destination in a rugged natural setting. As well as its 155 wineries, Margaret River has a vibrant food scene with fine restaurants, boutique breweries, art galleries and fresh produce.

Visit Margaret River and discover an exciting combination of great food and wine, stunning beaches and world-class surf breaks, tall forests, undulating farmland and ancient caves.

HISTORY

The region was ‘discovered’ in the mid 1960s by scientists Professor Harold Olmo and Dr John Gladstones who identified it as a potentially great grape growing region. The region’s first commercial vines were planted in 1967 by regional pioneer Dr Tom Cullity. Viticulture is now firmly established in this relatively young wine region, which celebrated 50 years in 2017.
