Behind the Scenes Winery Tour
Winemaking how-to, then a 3-course lunch
Visit Montalto and you get much more than wine - the estate is also renowned for its welcoming ambience, relaxed Australian architecture, intimate cellar door, and the beauty of its grounds that include an olive grove, acclaimed restaurant and café, sculpture walk and wetlands.
This unique offering has been awarded Best Winery Tourism Destination by Gourmet Traveller magazine and given a 5-star rating by Australian wine critic and vigneron James Halliday.
Montalto is dedicated to wine education and its skilled and knowledgeable cellar door team is keen to tell you all about its wine, vineyards and winery.
The estate offers three different ways for you to enjoy wine with food and friends - choose from a la carte dining in their restaurant, casual dining in the Piazza and Garden Café and private, catered picnics at selected locations.
Owners John and Wendy Mitchell love the arts, and their growing sculpture collection is dotted around the property for visitors to walk around or to contemplate as they enjoy lunch.
The Mornington Peninsula is suited to wine growing for its natural topography and mild climate. It is a popular holiday escape one hour south of Melbourne.
