The winery restaurant 'Locale' reflects the De Bortoli family's Italian heritage in name and nature. Take a seat to enjoy the best seasonal and organic Yarra Valley produce in its Italian inspired dishes, matched with quality estate grown wines.
Home to some of the oldest plantings in the Yarra Valley dating back to 1971, the estate is managed by Leanne De Bortoli and her husband, Stephen Webber, who is also the chief winemaker. It has been awarded numerous tourism awards and an international sustainability award.
De Bortoli Wines was established in 1928 by Vittorio and Giuseppina De Bortoli in Bilbul, New South Wales. Since then, the De Bortoli family have purchased vineyards in some of Australia’s best-known wine regions including the Yarra Valley within Victoria.
Now into its third generation of ownership, the De Bortoli family is committed to producing quality wines and they live by their motto, ‘Semper ad Majora’, which translates to ‘always striving for better’. They are moving towards sustainable, environmentally aware farming and winemaking practices.
The Yarra Valley is renowned for the beauty of the changing seasons, and an exciting food scene that has flourished around its local produce. Located 50km north-east of Melbourne.
