UWEA welcomes Artisans of Barossa

Artisans of Barossa, a collective of small-batch wine producers, has become the 28th member of Ultimate Winery Experiences Australia (UWEA). Comprising eight independent, family-owned winemakers who share a commitment to preserving and promoting the art of small-scale winemaking in the Barossa region, Artisans of Barossa epitomises the "artisan" philosophy rooted in exploration, experimentation, and self-expression.

Situated in the picturesque town of Tanunda, just an hour's drive from Adelaide, Artisans of Barossa offers a contemporary cellar door experience where visitors can embark on a journey of discovery. With over 100 Barossa wines available for tasting in one location, guests can fully immerse themselves in the diverse range of offerings.

One of the standout experiences at Artisans of Barossa is the Grenache Project, a unique guided tasting that showcases six wines crafted by six different winemakers using grapes from the same vineyard. This masterclass, the first of its kind within Ultimate Winery Experiences Australia, delves into the artistry of small-batch winemaking on the character and flavour of Barossa's classic Grenache variety.

The culinary offering at Artisans of Barossa ranges from casual all-day dining at the Delikatessen to a contemporary, innovative interpretation of seasonal Barossa ingredients offered in two or three-course menus at Essen (meaning 'to eat' in German, paying homage to the region's heritage).

The Artisan philosophy extends to the onsite Providore, which stocks Artisan wines and locally sourced produce from small-scale farmers and artisans, further emphasising their commitment to supporting the local community.

Artisans of Barossa is the fourth winery from the Barossa region to join UWEA, alongside Seppeltsfield, St Hugo, and Jacob's Creek. Additionally, Yalumba in the neighboring Eden Valley is also a member, bringing the total count of South Australian UWEA wineries to nine.

Artisans of Barossa welcomes visitors seven days a week at their location on 24 Vine Vale Road, Tanunda.
