Ultimate Winery Experiences Australia

2 Ultimate Wineries make World's Top Vineyards

The World's Best Vineyards has just revealed their annual Top 50 Wineries, with 2 Ultimate Wineries making the list from a total of 3 Australian wineries.

The awards showcase the finest places to savour exceptional wines, explore winemaking, and immerse in grape-growing. With stunning views, superb restaurants, and charming accommodations, these destinations offer something extraordinary. The wineries themselves offer distinctive experiences, like horse-drawn vintage carriage tours, tapas among beautifully restored classic cars, art displays featuring masters like Pablo Picasso, and cooking lessons over open fires.

Leading the Australian charge is d'Arenberg from McLaren Vale, achieving an impressive 17th position. The winery's standout feature is its expansive, five-story square d'Arenberg Cube, which serves as a remarkable centerpiece. However, it is the exceptional quality of d'Arenberg's organic and biodynamic wines that truly capture attention. The awards also commend the vineyard for exceeding expectations by offering experiences 'beyond the cellar door' including d'Arenberg Distilled, The Dead Arm Distinction, The Blending Bench and The Blending Bench & Degustation

Coming in at 44th was Penfolds Magill Estate, the historic birthplace of Penfolds wines and the renowned Grange. Here you can join the wine education team for a tasting of their famous labels, witness the vineyard where the Grange story began, and indulge in South Australian cuisine at the award-winning restaurant. Explore the heritage-listed winery, including underground tunnels, bluestone cellars, the Still House, and the iconic Grange cottage, once the home of Dr. Christopher and Mary Penfold. Discover what sets Penfolds apart from its competitors on a Penfolds Iconic Experience, Penfolds Platinum Experience, or an Ultimate Penfolds Experience.
