The Queen's Birthday Weekend

Well it's almost upon us and if you haven't already, it's time to lock in some plans.  We have lots of ideas for you.  Wherever you are, there's no better way to make the most of your time off than enjoying the best food and wine Australia has to offer.  All the restaurants and cellar doors of our Ultimate Wineries will be open all weekend long so pop in for a tasting or two.  Here's our guide to making the most of the three day weekend.

South Australia

Now in its 23rd year, the McLaren Vale Bank SA Sea & Vines Festival celebrates the winemaking and culinary tradition of a world-class food and wine mecca with a beach lifestyle.  As part of the festival, d'Arry's Verandah Restaurant at d'Arenberg will provide a sinfully delicious eight course degustation lunch as head Chef Peter Reschke draws inspiration from local and seasonal produce to complement the award winning d'Arenberg wines.  Tickets are limited, so don't miss the opportunity to chat with the legendary d'Arry Osborn and prepare to indulge your senses. Western Australia

With sumptuous wine, beer and food, jawdropping coastlines and amazing beaches as well as a lively art and cultural scene and activities for the whole family, the Margaret River region is the perfect place for a long weekend.  Experience everything from farmers markets, wineries and fine dining through to family friendly activies and fun in the surf.   Vasse Felix, Voyager Estate and Leeuwin Estate are open all weekend, so drop in and say hello.

Victoria

The Mornington Peninsula Wine Weekend is held every year.  The opening event is the Winter Wine Fest on Saturday 6th June from 11am to 4pm at Red Hill Reserve and Showgrounds, Arthurs Seat Road, Red Hill and is an exhibition and tasting which traditionally marks the beginning of the extensive Winter Wine Weekend programme. New South Wales

Why limit yourself to just the long weekend?  The Hunter Valley Wine and Food month takes place every June and is a celebration of Hunter Valley wines and fresh local produce.  Dine with iconic Hunter Valley winemakers and chefs, attend cooking classes and sample world-class wines from Australia's most historic wine region.  You'll find more information here.
