Truffle Lunch Series at Pt. Leo Estate

Dates: 24 June, 19 July, 11 August and 25 August, 2024

The newest member of Ultimate Winery Experiences Australia, Pt. Leo Estate, is hosting a series of truffle-themed lunches at their two-hatted restaurant, Laura, in conjunction with local producers Red Hill Truffles. The day kicks off with a cooking demonstration by Culinary Director, Josep Espuga, followed by a bespoke four-course menu with dishes enriched by truffles. The series culminates on Sunday 25th August with the Luxe Truffle Lunch where guests get to meet the owners of Red Hill Truffles and their gorgeous truffle hunting dogs, and learn more about this luxury ingredient before sitting down to a specially created seven-course truffle-centric menu. Wine pairings are available.

Truffle Dinner: The First of the Season at Artisans of Barossa

Artisans of Barossa kicks off its winter event series with an exclusive Truffle Dinner on 29 June, in partnership with the Barossa Truffle Company. Marking the start of truffle season in the Barossa, this event celebrates the rich traditions of the region’s culinary heritage in the form of fine local produce and wine craftsmanship. The evening includes snacks and a three-course menu featuring the earthy, aromatic flavours of freshly harvested truffles. Wine pairings are available.

Red Hill Truffle Weekend at Montalto Estate

Date: 20-21 July, 2024

Region: Mornington Peninsula, Victoria

Cost: A$125 - $269 pp

For a weekend dedicated to truffles, look no further than Montalto Estate. They’re partnering with Red Hill Truffles for a decadent truffle extravaganza, with a set menu showcasing Red Hill truffles, or the option to add shaved truffle to dishes served in the Piazza. On Sunday 21 July, guests can book in for an interactive truffle hunt and get their hands dirty digging for truffles alongside Jenny McAuley from Red Hill Truffles and her expert truffle hunting dogs Thomas and Maddie. The experience concludes with a five-course truffle-inspired lunch, starring the very truffles unearthed on this morning’s hunt.

Oak Valley Truffle Menu and Chef’s Table Lunch at Leeuwin Estate

Date: Throughout July (truffle menu) and 27 July (Chef’s Table lunch event), 2024

Region: Margaret River, Western Australia

Cost: A$250 - $260

The Manjimup region of Western Australia is famed for its high-quality truffles, and Leeuwin Estate in Margaret River has collaborated with Oak Valley Truffles to offer a month-long, six-course truffle-themed menu at the winery restaurant. The Oak Valley Truffle Lunch menu is available for the month of July, and features dishes like Jerusalem artichoke with truffle, chestnut fazzoletti, egg yolk and roasted onion, paired with current and museum release wines. On 27 July, Head Chef Dan Gedge will present an intimate Chef’s Table Truffle Lunch, where he’ll talk guests through five truffle courses and owner Simone Furlong will share stories on the wines.

Festa Tartufo at Josef Chromy Wines

Region: Tamar Valley, Tasmania

Tasmania’s chilly climate and rich soil is ideal for growing truffles, which is why Festa Tartufo – aka. Truffle Festival – is returning to Josef Chromy Wines near Launceston. This five-course dinner will see Executive Chef Nick Raitt reveal the nuances of truffles with his renowned culinary creativity, with dishes matched to Josef Chromy’s elegant cool-climate wines. This winter event is the perfect reason to gather a group of friends and plan a trip to Tassie.

Truffle Dinners at Mandoon Estate

Dates: 9 and 16 August, 2024

Region: The Swan Valley, Western Australia

Cost: A$125 pp

Mandoon Estate in the Swan Valley will be taking guests on a culinary journey in August, with two truffle-inspired dinner events. Guests will be treated to an array of meticulously crafted dishes under the guidance of Head Chef Tony Power, each infused with the exquisite flavour of local truffle. Matched Mandoon Estate wines from both Margaret River and the Swan Valley are available to enhance the flavour of dishes starring Western Australian ingredients like Stirling Ranges beef short rib and Abrolhos sea scallops (with a generous dose of truffle, of course!).

Working Dogs, Truffles and Vines at House of Arras

Dates: 3 August, 2024

Region: Tamar Valley, Tasmania

Cost: A$590 per couple 

House of Arras invites you to a unique one-day event commencing with a truffle hunt at Pipers Brook Truffles, guided by experienced truffle-hunter Diego the Kelpie. Guests will learn about truffle cultivation and culinary uses before indulging in a gourmet truffle-infused lunch. The adventure continues at Pipers River Vineyard, home to the House of Arras Cellar Door, where guests will sample award-winning sparkling wines and discover winter pruning techniques. The package includes an embroidered apron, a special truffle shaver, and quality time with the skilled working dogs Flinders and Diego.
