Margaret River Region on Wadandi Boodja

ITINERARY

Monday 7th August 2023

Afternoon

For those members who have arrived into Margaret River, we have arranged to do part of the Cape to Cape Walk with Walk into Luxury for those who wish to experience a Western Australian Signature Experience of Australia. The walk chosen is between 60-90 minutes in length and includes fantastic photo opportunities along the way. You may see some marine life along this trail, as well as a natural aquarium, beautiful flora and fauna as well as granite and limestone rock formations.

Meeting Place: Southern End of Smith's Beach Carpark

Meeting Time: 2pm

Additional Information: Please wear your joggers or hiking boots, bring your raincoat, sunscreen and water bottle. We will do a car shuffle once everyone has arrived, with the walk commencing from the canal rocks end of the trail and ending back at Smiths Beach Resort.

Evening

A casual welcome dinner will be provided to all members at the Cape Lodge Residence, the map to the residence is above. We ask you to please bring with you one or two bottles of wine (of your choice) to this gathering.

Meeting Time: from 6:00pm

Additional Information: Please bring along one or two bottles of wine to share amongst the group for this dinner. If you are staying at Cape Lodge and have checked into your room, there are torches provided in each villa - please bring this with you if you are walking as the walk home can be quite dark.

Please join us at Cape Lodge Restaurant for a beautiful four-course chef’s harvest menu curated especially for Ultimate Winery Experiences Australia. Each dish will be perfectly paired with some of WA's finest provided by our friends at Leeuwin Estate, Vasse Felix, Mandoon Estate and Voyager.

Hear from Carolyn Turnball, Managing Director of Tourism WA, who will be providing an update on tourism in Western Australia during dinner.

9:00am: Pick-up guests at Cape Lodge

9:30am: Pick-up guests in Margaret River, Charles West Avenue Bus Bay

10:00am - 11:30am: Vasse Felix | The Original Tour

12:00pm - 3pm: Leeuwin Estate | Welcome brut, private art gallery tour, canapé plus two course lunch paired with Art Series wines

3:15pm - 5pm: Voyager Estate | Tour of Voyager Estate, overview of experiences, cheese and glass of wine

5:15pm: Guests dropped into Margaret River, Charles West Avenue Bus Bay

5:30pm: Guests dropped to Cape Lodge

For those staying on in Margaret River after the famil, we have reserved rooms at Margaret's In Town Apartments. They have offered a nightly rate to UWEA Members of $150/per room. Wednesday evening is free time in the beautiful Margaret River.
