Living by the motto “if I can’t afford …
Spring is a little over a month away and, while it may be hard for some to imagine, we will once again be free to explore this beautiful country. In the spirit of optimism and celebration, we invite you to plan a discover of Victoria's High Country, Australia's home of Prosecco.
On our suggested Prosecco Discovery Wine Trail, gather your friends and explore a haven of natural beauty, crisp Autumns, hot Summers, quaint towns, and delicious food and wine. Explore the great outdoors or stay in with a glass of red and warm fire.
Highlights of the trail include Pizzini Wines, a family-owned winery in the King Valley wine region specialising in the production of Italian wine varieties such as Pinot Grigio, Arneis, Sangiovese, Nebbiolo and, of course, Prosecco. Pizzini's Pop & Fizz experience offers a sensory immersion in the atmospheric surrounds of the original tobacco kiln from Pizzini’s past agricultural life transformed into a luxe, light-drenched sampling space. Enjoy a remarkably energetic and fun-filled 45-minute session that will introduce lesser-known aspects of the Prosecco personality.
At Brown Brothers Winery in Milawa, the ultimate Prosecco indulgence awaits you in the famous Prosecco Lounge. This private brunch experience takes you through the entire Brown Brothers’ Prosecco range as you graze on a gourmet spread of freshly baked sweets and pastries, local Milawa cheeses, house-made delicacies, terrines and seasonal fruits.
A short drive away in the Alpine Valleys region, Feathertop Winery offers private accommodation, specacular scenery and in depth experiences that introduce you to the range of wines produced on this beautiful estate. To broaden your wine knowledge and have a fabulous time in the process, go Behind the Wines and Vines - a privately hosted and up close and personal experience that takes you to the inner sanctum of Feathertop. The experience begins from a special vantage point in the vineyard where you will be introduced to the varietal mix, the vineyard philosophy and any current operations happening on the day. You'll then take a behind the scenes tour in the winery to understand the wine crushing operations, wine making philosophy, and even taste some tank samples when available. Your tour finishes off with a wine tasting of current release wines.
With suggested stops at Milawa Cheese, the beautiful township of Beechworth and accommodation onsite at Feathertop - this wine trail is the best way to rediscover the great Aussie road trip, indulge in the very best regional cuisine and celebrate with friends old and new.
