With an increase in high quality accommodation options and an understandable appetite for travellers to take their time immersing in the food, wine and scenery of our regional destinations, we've noticed a clear trend emerging for overnight packages and experiences that allow visitors to escape for a night or two.  With that in mind, we've selected some of our favourite overnight experiences across Australia that allow plenty of time to indulge and explore.

Queensland

The Ultimate Winery Escape, Sirromet Wines

This two-night escape is the perfect addition to a Queensland itinerary, offering time to explore the picturesque Mount Cotton area, a short drive from Brisbane (transfers available on request). The experience provides two nights' premium glamping accommodation at Sanctuary by Sirromet in a Honeymoon Pavilion overlooking Sirromet's beautiful natural lagoon.  During the experience guests will indulge in an 8-course Tasting Plate Dinner at onsite Restaurant Lurleen’s, a Behind The Scenes Tour and Premium Tasting experience, and, as a memento of the stay, two bottles of wine from Sirromet’s Le Sauvage range to take home.

New South Wales

Stay Among the Vines, Audrey Wilkinson

Two nights' accommodation in a four-bedroom Vineyard cottage surrounded by Pokolbin’s oldest vines provides the ideal base to explore the famous Hunter Valley.  A bottle of wine on arrival and a breakfast hamper for the first morning are included.

Enjoy 360 degree views and the many walking trails throughout the property. Nearby, visit the cellar door and enjoy a private wine tasting and self guided tour of the in-house museum.  Alternatively, guests can combine their stay with a Behind-the-Scenes Winery Tour or Picnic Among the Vines.

‘Mulberry Cottage’ can accommodate up to eight people in four queen sized bedrooms (each with en-suite bathroom), as well as a kitchen, two lounge areas, dining, veranda, TV and DVD, air conditioning and open fireplace. 

Victoria

Pizzini Overnight Wine & Food Escape

Pizzini Wines has been pioneering the growing and making of northern Italian wine varieties in Australia’s King Valley since the mid-1980s and this passion and commitment continues today.  This overnight experiences commences at the cellar door for a structured tasting of both current and back vintage wines while discussing the Italian wine varietals and how vineyard site and the different ‘makers’ techniques have influenced wine styles over the years.

Following the tasting, a picnic in Pizzini's magnificent cellar door garden accompanied by wine.

Well appointed accommodation at the Pizzini-owned Mountain View Hotel is included, as well as time to relax or take in some local attractions such as Powers Lookout or Paradise Falls before indulging in a four course dinner with matched wine made by Joel Pizzini, in the fine Dining Lounge of the Mountain View Hotel.

Tasmania

Golf, Wine & Art

This three-day, two-night luxury package combines some of Tasmania's globally renowned attractions on a dream itinerary for lovers of the finer things in life.  The experience includes return private charter flights on board the immaculate Outback Jet, two nights on-course accommodation at Barnbougle's premium Lost Farm Lodge, two full rounds at Barnbougle/Lost Farm with pull cart and full size bag hire (if required), entry to MONA (Hobart's Museum of Old & New Art), a two course gourmet lunch with wine at The Source, a private guided vineyard and winery tour with tutored tasting at Moorilla and a bottle of wine to take home. 

South Australia

The Legacy Experience at St Hugo

A true bucket-list experience for lovers of South Australian wine, the Legacy Experience is a fully-hosted overnight experience engaging in a variety of activities to introduce guests to St Hugo and the sights, flavours and terroir of the Barossa Valley.

This 5-star experience includes an exclusive interactive experience with St Hugo's Executive Chef, exploring the food and wine philosophy and intrictate crafting of St Hugo's award-winning menu.  Next, a private tour, wine tastings of back vintages and an eight course degustation dinner.

Day two commences with a personal wine blending experience, with the St Hugo Winemaker, embarking on a journey of appreciation into how St Hugo wines achieve such power and elegance.

The day concludes with a helicopter flight over St Hugo's subregional vineyards. A selection of St Hugo’s finest vintages and exclusive wines to take home is also included.

Western Australia

The Ultimate Flight

The ideal introduction to WA's Swan Valley region and Mandoon Estate.

This overnight experience (with optional transfers from Perth Airport or CBD) begins with a guided wine tasting in the private underground cellar before setting off on a scenic 30 minute chopper flight to the coastal beaches of Perth.  Next, a glimpse behind-the-scenes at the award-winning winery with a member of the winemaking team.

Following the tour, a 5-course degustation lunch awaits, paired with Mandoon Estate wines before checking into luxurious on-site accommodation at The Colony.  A relaxed dinner at the onsite Estate Brewery is also included.

Wake up to majestic views of the Swan River from a private balcony before taking a leisurely stroll through the vines to breakfast at the Estate.  The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore the Swan Valley.
