Mornington Peninsula Regional Art Gallery and Montalto present Contemplating Art, with Hiromi Tango.

Hiromi Tango is an established interdisciplinary artist, based in Northern New South Wales. Her practice intersects with art, health, and neuroscience, exploring universal themes of humanity, sustainability, and nature. For over a decade, Tango has focussed on the intersection between art and mental health. Drawing on her own experiences of anxiety, her installations and performances traverse the embodied self, the emotional terrain of our relationships with others, and the healing possibilities of art. She has collaborated with numerous scientists, health professionals and research institutions, exploring how various aspects of the art-making process can contribute to positive mental wellbeing.

Hiromi has received multiple awards including the 2017 Sidney Myer Creative Fellowship and has been featured as a finalist in award exhibitions across Australia, including Winner of Gold Coast Art Prize 2015, and Deakin University Contemporary Small Sculpture Award. Hiromi’s work is held in major Australian public collections as well as private collections across Australia and overseas.

Join us for an intimate discussion with Hiromi, accompanied by beautiful food and wine at Montalto's picturesque Red Hill winery. Inclusive of two-course shared lunch, wine charged on consumption.

The event begins at midday but guests may take up the option for a Kitchen garden walk at 10.30am prior to the lunch.
