Established more than four decades ago, the 400-hectare estate encompasses sustainably managed vineyards, an extensive nature reserve, grazing land, a flourishing kitchen garden, a striking subterranean cellar door and acclaimed restaurant.

Guided by the vision of founders Marc and Eva Besen, TarraWarra Estate is defined by a deep respect for the land, its heritage and the Wurundjeri people, the Traditional Custodians of this Country. As custodians of the estate, the team is committed to sustainability, provenance and crafting wines that express the unique character of the site.

Visitors are invited to discover TarraWarra through immersive wine experiences, tasting acclaimed Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah in the architecturally designed cellar door, or enjoying seasonal cuisine in the one-hat restaurant, where Head Chef Daniel Snooks showcases produce from the estate's kitchen garden and local growers. With sweeping vineyard views from the peppercorn-shaded terrace, TarraWarra is a place to slow down, connect and savour the best of the Yarra Valley.

Adding another dimension to the estate is the TarraWarra Museum of Art, one of Australia's leading public art museums. Founded by Eva Besen AO and Marc Besen AC, the museum is home to an outstanding collection of Australian art and presents thought-provoking exhibitions that celebrate twentieth and twenty-first century artists. Also onsite is the important Eva and Marc Besen Centre a unique and breathtaking architectural concept which features the visible storage of over 300 artworks from the Museum’s collection, a learning centre and a performance space. Together, the winery, restaurant and museum create a uniquely enriching destination where wine, food, art and nature exist in perfect harmony.

The picturesque Yarra Valley is famous for the quality and flavour of its wine, with more than 80 wineries crafting sparkling wine, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. The cool climate (warmer than Burgundy but cooler than Bordeaux) is ideal for viticulture. With more than 4000 hectares under vine, it is one of the most visited wine regions in Australia.
