Ultimate Winery Experiences Australia

The best of Barossa by bike

A fun-filled day of chocolate, cheese and fine Barossa wines

Some of the Barossa’s best tourism sites have teamed up for a fun-filled day of chocolate, cheese and fine Barossa wines on a guided e-bike tour hosted by Bike About.

The morning begins in Angaston at Yalumba Family Winemakers with the insights into wine barrel making in Australia’s only onsite winery Cooperage.

Guests are then fitted with their e-bikes before the first ride through the spectacular Barossa Ranges to Barossa Valley Chocolate Company in Tanunda.

On arrival, guests will enjoy a morning tea, and also have the chance to sample some locally produced chocolates.

A short ride will take guests to Artisans of Barossa, which showcases a collective of eight small-batch independent winemakers. Here guests will enjoy a Rarities Tasting – a deep dive experience designed to take you on a personal journey of discovery in Barossa wine from these boutique artisans.

Back on the Barossa Bike Trail, guests will travel past Yalumba’s Nursery and the world’s oldest Grenache vines, making their way up the hill into Angaston to the Barossa Valley Cheese Company. Here, guests enjoy a cheese tasting plate and hear how owner Victoria McClurg turned from winemaking to cheesemaking, a perfect pair in the Barossa.

The final stop is back at Yalumba – Australia’s oldest family-owned winery with both fifth and sixth generations working together. Yalumba Ambassador will guide guests through the winery’s Signature Cellar, here they will experience Yalumba’s iconic wine The Signature with a comparative tasting of the current vintage and yet to be released vintage wine syphoned straight from the barrel.

Also at Yalumba, guests will enjoy a collection tasting of Yalumba wines with a relaxed lunch consisting of a local artisan produce platter, full of local delights including Trevallie Orchard fresh and dried fruits, Barossa Cheese, Angaston Smokehouse meats, local baked bread, olives, olive oil and dukkah.
