The Museum of Old and New Art's summer festival is hitting both Hobart and Launceston in 2018, with an unprecedented 11 days of cacophonic music and unexpected art installations, with a Mini Mofo weekend in the state's northern city, as well as the last three-day Mofo at Mona for some time.
The lineup highlights include Gotye presenting a tribute to the late, great Jean-Jacques Perrey, avant-garde darling Genesis Breyer P-Orridge, Chicago based-soul singer Jamila Woods, jazz master Brian Jackson performing with the Southern Gospel Choir, Norwegian metal gods Mayhem, and Canadian art-rock legends Godspeed You! Black Emperor who will perform a headline set at Mona, as well as a live score to The Holy Body Tattoo’s dance performance, Monumental. Mofo 2018 is also hosting artists from as far afield as Tunisia, USA, Iraq, Argentina, United Kingdom, Spain, and Iran.
A highly original, exhilarating and upllfting festival, Mofo is an experience not to be underestimated.
Mofo takes place from 12 – 14 January in Launceston, and 15 – 22 January in Hobart.
