Orange named Australia's Most Romantic City
On Valentine's Day, we are proud to announce …
Raise a glass to International Syrah Day with Ultimate Winery Experiences Australia!
Australian Syrah, grown in cooler climates, produces elegant wines with floral aromas, peppery notes, and vibrant fruit flavours. Whilst Syrah and Shiraz are technically the same grape, Syrah usually presents a medium-full-bodied, more complex profile with higher acidity and softer tannins, while Australian Shiraz is known for its full-bodied, higher alcohol content, and fruit-forward profile.
Here's a selection of Syrahs from our Ultimate Winery Experiences Australia members.
Montalto offers three distinctive Syrahs from the 2022 vintage. The Pennon Hill Syrah is a medium-bodied wine with red and blue fruit notes complemented by violet florals and subtle spices. The Single Vineyard 'Tuerong' Syrah presents flavours of blueberries, Kirsch, and blackberry, with hints of spices and minerality. The Montalto Syrah, sourced from warmer Tuerong vineyards, features mulberry, blackberry, and raspberry flavors, alongside olive tapenade and spice nuances. Each wine showcases unique characteristics, from vibrant fruit to savoury undertones, with fine tannins and a refreshing finish.
Moorilla Estate's Muse Syrah 2017 features a pale ruby hue with juicy berry flavors and classic Shiraz notes, complemented by delicate oak-spice and savoury hints on a medium-weight palate, sourced from the St Matthias vineyard in Tasmania, embodying a harmonious wine with an elegant structure and mineral-rich acidity.
