Ultimate Winery Experiences Australia (UWEA) is delighted to welcome Ampersand Estates as the newest member of its hand‑selected collective, expanding the portfolio into Western Australia’s breathtaking Pemberton Wine Region, south of Perth.

Set on a remarkable 56‑hectare property, Ampersand Estates is located around three hours’ drive from Perth, 30 minutes north of Pemberton and 45 minutes east of the famed Margaret River Region. With the Busselton-Margaret River Airport just 45 minutes away — offering direct flights from Sydney and Melbourne — the estate is easily accessible, with VIP helicopter transfers from Perth landing directly beside the lakeside cellar door.

Immersed in the South West’s Natural Beauty

Ampersand Estates sits at the heart of the South West’s most iconic landscapes. Guests are surrounded by towering old‑growth karri forests, ancient river systems, truffle country, land‑locked sand dunes and dramatic coastlines — a setting that defines the estate’s deep connection to place.

The cellar door, nestled on the banks of the Donnelly River, invites guests to slow down and savour guided tastings of premium Ampersand wines or indulge in gourmet picnics featuring local produce, all framed by sweeping natural views.

Wine, Spirits and an Australian First

Adding another layer to the estate experience is Rainfall Distillery at Ampersand Estates, an onsite distillery crafting artisanal gin and vodka using estate‑grown chardonnay as the base spirit. Locally sourced seasonal botanicals and the purest rainwater are combined to create spirits that truly reflect their origin, with guided tastings available alongside the estate’s wines.

Opening next month, the Rainfall Distillery Gardens mark an Australian first. Home to more than 2,100 plants across 36 fruit, herb and spice species, the gardens form a unique single‑estate, closed‑loop spirits program. Every ingredient is grown onsite, supported by beehives, rainwater harvesting and estate farming — a powerful expression of sustainability, innovation and terroir.

Stay Among the Vines

For those wishing to linger longer, Ampersand Estates offers three luxury vineyard residences: the two‑bedroom Settlers’ Cottage, the five‑bedroom Vintner’s Residence, and the expansive five‑bedroom Homestead. Each features refined interiors, fully equipped kitchens, scenic outdoor spaces, locally sourced breakfast hampers and exclusive access to estate experiences.

The estate’s signature Ultimate Winery Experience — A Marriage of Luxury & Nature (from A$3,145 for up to four guests) brings together an overnight stay, gourmet breakfast, private wine tastings and an intimate four‑course degustation cooked over open fire by the estate’s Michelin‑trained chef. Depending on the season, dinner is enjoyed under the stars in the vineyard, fireside, or within the residence itself.

Day visitors can enjoy the Terroir Tasting Experience (A$180 per person), an immersive journey through the Rainfall Distillery Gardens. Guests forage for seasonal botanicals used in Rainfall spirits before a guided tasting of estate gins, vodkas and signature Pemberton wines, paired with locally sourced charcuterie.
