Taylors Wines welcomed as a new winery

Expanding to the Clare Valley

Ultimate Winery Experiences Australia (UWEA) is raising a glass to its newest member — Taylors Wines, marking an exciting expansion of the collective’s footprint into South Australia’s Clare Valley.

Just 90 minutes north of Adelaide, Taylors becomes the first Clare Valley winery to join the prestigious UWEA collective, part of Tourism Australia’s Signature Experiences program.

A Legacy Rooted in the Clare Valley

The Taylor family’s story in the Clare Valley stretches back to the late 1950s, when, as Sydney wine merchants, they partnered with the Clare Valley Co-operative to create wines under the Chateau Clare label.

In 1969, inspired by the great producers of Bordeaux, the family discovered a promising parcel of land by the Wakefield River — a site that would become home to Taylors Wines. Today, the winery stands as one of Australia’s most celebrated, and a proud member of Australia’s First Families of Wine, alongside fellow UWEA members Brown Brothers, d’Arenberg, and Yalumba.

A Natural Fit for the UWEA Collective

According to UWEA Executive Officer Sarah Myers, Taylors embodies everything UWEA stands for.

“Taylors has a strong wine tourism strategy, with several immersive experiences available to guests visiting the cellar door,” said Myers.
“We’re delighted to give travellers even more reasons to visit South Australia’s beautiful wine regions by expanding our trail to include the Clare Valley. It’s the perfect stop en route to the Flinders Ranges, home to Arkaba Conservancy and Homestead - one of the
Luxury Lodges of Australia.”

A New Cellar Door Experience

In late 2023, Taylors unveiled its state-of-the-art cellar door, a multi-million-dollar development designed to elevate the visitor experience. The venue features two elegant tasting rooms, a courtyard and patio, a purpose-built event pavilion, and even an EV charging station. Guests can enjoy grazing boards and platters daily, woodfired pizzas on weekends, and a year-round outdoor sculpture exhibition that brings art and wine together in harmony.

Signature Experiences at Taylors Wines

From casual tastings to immersive journeys, Taylors offers visitors a range of Ultimate Winery Experiences that highlight the region’s distinctive terroir and the family’s winemaking philosophy:
